I have always struggled to find a form of exercise that makes me feel good and makes exercise enjoyable for me. I’ve never been a particularly sporty person, but over the last few years I’ve become increasingly frustrated by the fact that I’m not fit either, so I tire quickly. In order to change this, I thought it would be best to keep looking and try as many different forms of exercise as possible. That’s how I got into Zumba earlier last year, which has become one of my favorite pastimes.
A very good friend of mine told me about her Zumba classes and she got me to try it, and that’s how I became one of the biggest Zumba fans. And in the meantime, as it turns out, I was, or still am, meeting people who are Lemon Casino players, and I’ve since shown them the Bison Casino site, which they also love. So it’s become a good connection point, along with Zumba, to feel part of a community where it’s not just about the exercise.
Things You Should Know About Zumba
Zumba is a truly exciting form of exercise that combines Latin dance elements with aerobic movement to create a cardio workout that is both dance and a beneficial workout that moves every muscle. It is a relatively new form of exercise that started to gain popularity in the mid-1990s.
I don’t really want to go into the origins and history of Zumba, because you can actually find a lot of broad articles on it by searching the internet. What I would like to talk about is that Zumba is a dance workout that, as well as exercising all parts of the body, can also have a very positive effect on your mental health.
Zumba and Mental Health Problems
Zumba has helped my mental health a lot over the past year or more, so I can tell you about my own experience. But how can Zumba help and improve your mental health? Well, to understand this, I need to go back a little to the beginning, to the first Zumba classes I took.
During the first few classes, it was strange to me that the women who attended these classes were very cheerful. They are very happy to see each other, there is obviously a small group of people who have been going regularly and for a long time, so they have become good friends. That was not the most surprising thing, of course, but rather how cheerful they are and the cheers and jeers that can be heard during the class.
To me, this kind of joy and cheerfulness seemed excessive, so I didn’t believe it was real, genuine joy. And I especially didn’t feel that I could take part in it. It wasn’t long, however, before I realized that I wasn’t dancing with a bunch of giddy, silly people, but with women who were struggling in their workplaces and personal lives, and for whom zumba, with its liberating joy, was a very good way to hold on to life. In the meantime, it has become that for me too.
Perhaps it was a bit strong to say that it’s a very good grip on life, of course, not in the sense that it’s the only thing they live for, and the only thing I live for, but in the sense that it’s a safe place to forget about the everyday hassles and troubles, and a very good way to relax. So it’s a great way to de-stress.
Being Part of a Community
As time went on, I discovered that these girls and I had more in common than I had thought. As I mentioned, it turns out that they visit the Lemon Casino often. This was already a good connection point that brought them even closer to me, and thus better into the community.
Over time, I started to feel fully part of the community and I have enjoyed coming to these classes ever since. They really liked the Bison Casino site, which I later showed them, which I also experienced as a success. Now I can’t imagine my life without Zumba and I highly recommend it to everyone. And, of course, while I’m on the subject, I can also recommend the Bison Casino, because it’s also a great way to relax.
