If you think you might have a drug addiction problem, this blog post will tell you about the warning signs so that you can take control of your life before it’s too late.

1) You can’t stop using the drug, even though you want to.

Once you have been using a Drug Addiction habitually for long enough, you’ll discover that you are constantly using more and more of it. If you do so despite your best intentions to quit, that’s a huge red flag. It means that your body has become dependent on the substance and is now physically dependent on it. This makes quitting extremely difficult because you will suffer withdrawal symptoms.

2) You’re using the drug to cope with problems.

If you find yourself using drugs to deal with stress, sadness, anger, or other negative emotions, that’s another warning sign. While it may seem that others use drugs to ease their stress (like smoking marijuana after a stressful workday); those who are addicted to drugs use them as a crutch to avoid feeling those negative emotions altogether. Drugs can seem like an easy way out, but they only offer a temporary fix and often lead to even bigger problems down the road.

3) Drug Addiction change Your personality and behavior.

If you’re using drugs, your personality and behavior are likely to change. You may become more secretive and isolate yourself from friends and family or you may become more irritable and impulsive. You may also be less responsible in your everyday life, such as skipping class or work or neglecting important responsibilities. All of these changes are signs that something is wrong and you should get help before it’s too late.

4) You lose control over your finances.

If you aren’t in control of the money you spend or you have recently started to spend more to fund your drug use, it is time to seriously consider getting help. The last thing that you want is to lose all of your money to drug addiction.

5) Others have begun to notice.

Noticing changes in yourself is one thing, but if others start to pick up on it; you are starting to manifest your drug use on other people. What that means is that you have made it such a big part of your life that it is now impacting those around you.

6) You find yourself in situations that are dangerous or risky.

Dangerous and risky behaviors like stealing, having unprotected sex, using dirty needles (if/when injecting); and driving under the influence of drugs all point to an addiction problem. If you have been engaging in dangerous activities that you would not otherwise have; you need to think about the reason behind your actions. If you are experiencing any of these warning signs, please don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
